The Secret Life of Felicity Vogl

As Felicity approaches the 2 month milestone, she is growing out of her newborn accommodations and getting into a routine.

A week ago, Felicity started sleeping in her crib instead of a bassinet in our room. The first night she somehow managed to rotate herself around - we can't figure out how she did this! She hasn't repeated the feat, though she does sometimes shift herself to the side and roots on the crib bumper when she's hungry. [Update 8/4: She managed to do this again - twice! - last night.]

Felicity's Fantastic Flip (reenacted)

Went to bed like this:

Found like this four hours later:

Felicity has also grown out of her kitchen sink baths. She is now enjoying room to stretch her legs in the baby bath. Here is her first time in the new bath:

Felicity has adopted a routine for herself in the past couple of weeks. From about 11:00 pm to 9:00 am she sleeps, with one nursing session in the middle. The rest of the day she is awake and wanting to be fed or entertained most of the time. (Unless we take her in the car somewhere, which usually puts her to sleep, and gives the impression to everyone else that she sleeps much more than she does.) At least our reward for entertaining her all day is a good night's sleep for ourselves!

Wide awake, as usual when she hasn't been travelling:

Felicity also attended her first political event a couple of days ago: a birthday party for Keith Fimian, candidate for the House of Representatives for our district, and older brother of Fr. Kevin Fimian, who served at St. Agnes when we went there before we moved to Oakton. She got her first baby-and-politician photo op, though she slept through it (due to the half hour car ride to get there, of course):
