Glad Tidings for Christmas!

As we close the book on 2010, we'd like to share with you our headlines of the year:
  • Snowpocalypse! Meteorologist Matt got to experience a record-breaking winter, including a record December snowfall right before Christmas 2009 and two back-to-back blizzards that dumped 3 feet of snow across metro DC within one week.

  • Last Chance Getaway: With Baby #2 on the way and sick of the snow, Matt and Lillian took a 4-day cruise to the Bahamas right before Easter.

  • Birthday Party Ends with Trip to Emergency Room: Felicity broke her leg at her 2nd birthday party, and had to spend the first four weeks of the summer in a cast. Silver lining: her verbal skills exploded when she couldn't just help herself to everything.

  • Welcome to the World, Mark Matthew: Our second child, Mark, made an early appearance in the wee hours of the morning on September 8. He was baptized on October 3. Mark is a very social baby who loves to trade smiles, especially with the ladies.

  • My Kingdom for a Job: Matt and Lillian both took part in the Great American Job Hunt of 2010. Matt’s school of three years was closed in June due to budget cuts. After three months of teaching 6th grade Math, Matt was promoted to Assessment Coach (testing coordinator) at Fairfax High School. Meanwhile, Lillian hit the famed partnership track pressure of a 6th-year associate while pregnant, and was offered a job by the wife of Justice Clarence Thomas just a couple of weeks before Mark's arrival. It's been quite an odyssey!

A Christmas Greeting from Mark
