Wow, August has just flown by! Matt has been going to meetings for work a couple days a week all month, and school starts up next Tuesday. Lillian goes back to work on Tuesday, too. Farewell, dear summer/maternity break, we'll miss you!!
The highlight of August was a visit from Lillian's sister, Holly -- last but certainly not least of the close family members to meet Felicity. We enjoyed several relaxing days hanging out together as a family by day and watching the Olympics into the wee hours of the morning. Felicity really connected with her youngest aunt, and Holly had a great knack for getting Felicity to fall asleep before dinner so we could have a peaceful meal. We were sad to see our baby whisperer go back to Chicagoland!
Felicity is growing up fast. She likes to practice standing, holding up her body weight with her own legs if you stabilize her upper body. She can sit upright for a few minutes in her Bumpo chair, and she's becoming interested in toys. She'll keep her eye on brightly colored objects as we move them around, and she grasps toys and sometimes mouths them too. We get lots of smiles and cooing now, which melt our hearts!
